On The Edge

Hello all, semester 2 has began and I'm super busy again! Wednesday saw the launch of something very exciting; for a couple of month now I have been working with Arts and Humanities students to create a student led literature magazine called The Edge. As someone with a fashion background I agreed to take on the role of Creative Director and design and put together the magazine.

Just a couple of edits, full pdf will be available online soon.

To celebrate the launch we had a party at Blakes Coffee House, a gorgeous little cafe in Newcastle. There were readings, music from Great Man Theory and a local folk band called Transatlantic sessions and copious amounts of wine (mainly consumed by the english lecturers!) I'm awaiting some professional photographs which I will share with you guys.

Above is myself with English lecturer Kaye and English student and a very good friend of mine Julia. Edge was Kaye's concept and although she gave us free reign with it she had been an endless support to all of us. And as for Julia, well she has been the kick up the bum I needed, friends, confidant and absolute powerhouse.

If you'd like a real copy of the magazine they're available at Northumbria and in selected places in Newcastle city centre. We also have a blog ran by the tech whiz (ahem) Chloe where we will be posting submissions that didn't feature in the mag.

Here's to next issue!
